Overview
James Barnor: Ever Young

On March 17, Barakat Contemporary is pleased to present Ever Young, the first solo exhibition of James Barnor in Korea.

The exhibition introduces Barnor’s major works spanning the 1950s to 1980s which embraces various fields of portraiture, photojournalism, fashion and music photography, captured by an African photographer across two different continents of Ghana and Britain with his own sensibility and artistic vision.

Along with portraiture taken at his first photograph studio Ever Young, the introduction of 35 works featured in the show capture the pivotal moments of changing Ghanaian identity following independence in the 1950s, as well as the spirit of Swinging London and diaspora culture in 1960s amid social transformations, technological innovations, and geopolitical histories in the late 20th century.

We look forward to welcoming you to James Barner's first exhibition in Korea, Ever Young, who is widely recognized as a pioneer of modern photography.
