Peles Duo’s solo exhibition h₁ésh₂r̥ will be held at Kunstverein Siegen. The title, from the Proto-Indo-European word for 'blood,' symbolizes life, sacrifice, and the connection between body, earth, and metal—key themes in their work.
As part of the exhibition, at the historic excavation site of Gerhardsseifen, an Iron Age smelting site in the Siegerland region, the artists will bury a sculpture, an inverted sculpture that is hidden from view. This gesture questions the traditional idea of sculpture and addresses themes revolving around time, memory and archaeology. This process will also be filmed by Rob Crosse, and subsequently presented as part of the exhibition from the 7th to the 22nd of June. Ashes within me, a collaborative film with Rob Crosse will also be presented for the first time.
Additionally, mess and memory at Kunstverein Friedrichshafen reflects on Peles Duo's 20-year journey through the concept of studio space and creation.
