In view of the current health context, the artist decided to put the film, the sixth episode of his deep, majestic and committed project, online for a limited time.
This episode is a crucial moment in Shezad Dawood’s Leviathan Cycle, as it inaugurates the series' second chapter of five episodes and shifts the narrative from one of breakdown and fragmentation to a focus on methodologies for surviving the future. Themes of living and working together emerge, as carefully edited footage of marine organisms is interspersed with the episode’s scripted elements to suggest parallels between different ecologies on earth, pointing towards the ways in which humans mirror other life forms – including microbes, and corals – in their constant shuttle between symbiosis and violence.
