Gary Hume United Kingdom, b. 1962
Born in 1962 in Kent, United Kingdom, Gary Hume currently divides his time between London and Accord, New York. He is an original member of the Young British Artists (YBAs), participating in the Freeze exhibition planned mainly by students from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London in 1988. He was invited to both the São Paulo Art Biennial in 1996 and the Venice Biennale in 1999 as an artist represented in the British pavilion and held solo exhibitions at the Whitechapel Gallery in London in 1999 and Tate Britain in 2013. In 2001, he was selected as a Royal Academy of Arts artist.
