바라캇 컨템포러리는 5월 10일부터 7월 30일까지 마이클 라코위츠의 국내 최초 개인전 <보이지 않는 적은 존재하지 않아야 한다(칼후의 북서 궁전, F실(室), 남동쪽 입구; S실, 남서쪽 입구)>를 개최한다. 이번 전시는 2003년 이라크 전쟁이 전환점이 되어 현재까지 20여 년 동안 마이클 라코위츠가 전념하고 있는 핵심 작품들을 선보인다. 작가는 이라크계 유대인 배경으로 인해 이라크를 떠나 미국으로 망명해야만 했던 가족의 이주사 그리고 전쟁에 의해 소실된 이라크의 메소포타미아 문화 유적을 재현(reappear)하고 되돌리는(return) 작업을 지속하고 있다. 보잘것없는 포장재부터 고대 아시리아 석판 부조까지 무력에 의해 밀려나는 인간과 함께 사라져 버린 모든 사물의 이야기에 귀 기울이며 보이지 않는 트라우마로부터 실질적인 치유법을 제안한다.
